Features

  • You can use the flow sensor with an input power supply of from 12 to 24 VDC (permissible voltage fluctuation ±10%).
  • The amplifier protection structure conforms to IP67.
  • You can set the lower limit of the flowrate. If the flowrate falls below this limit, the red LED lamp (NG) turns on, and contact signal output is given to notify the operator of the critical situation.
  • Analog output (4 to 20 mA) proportional to the flowrate is issued.
  • In the case of low pressure specifications, you can check the flow of fluid by observing the rotor rotation.
  • In the case of high pressure specifications, you can measure the flowrate at 25MPa.(except FS-1)For FS-2, 3 and 6, 8 excluding , be sure to use it with the cap B (for high pressure) mounted in position. (Cap B (for high pressure) is mounted when shipped from the factory).
  • You can use the sensor at the desired installation position (horizontal, vertical or tilted position) in the desired inflow direction.
  • Remove the cap from the front of the main body, and to clean the rotor by air.

Example of use

  • Seizure can be avoided by flow control of lubricating oil for the spindles and bearings of machine tools, printing machines, presses and speed reducers.
  • Tool damage and fire can be prevented by control of coolant flow to machine tools.
  • This is used to check if the filter is clogged or not.
  • Coolant flow control.

Principle of actuation


The detection part of flow sensor utilizes rotation of the rotor (turbine) installed in the fluid. The measuring part detects, by means of the external magnetic sensor, the rotation speed of the permanent magnet mounted on the circumference of the rotor. The device is provided with analog and contact outputs, as standard features, proportional to the rotation speed (flow rate).

The tests before delivery from our factory are performed in the conditions mentioned above. The accuracy is given in the specification of each flow sensor unit.

Caution of use

  • Be sure to use within the maximum service flow rate.
  • DO NOT install the flow sensor near a machine generating magnetic field (motor for example) to avoid erratic function.
  • Provide straight piping more than 10 times the inner diameter of the pipe on the upstream side, and more than 4 times on the downstream side. DO NOT install curved or confluence or branch, that is, elbow or Tee or throttle valve, near the outlet.

  • The rotor incorporates a magnet. For lubricant oil, install a filter of 5 to 20 microns; for coolant, a filter of 20 to 50 microns.

* Please contact a staff member of our sales department, for use for a general purpose NC lathe or grinding machine with coolant containing much cut dust.
* If sticking cut dust prevents the rotor from rotating, remove the front cap and perform air blow to eliminate the cut dust.
